- Wear lots of warm thick layers – you can always take some off if you are too ht
- Wear multiple pairs of socks – they will help keep your feet warm during the day and at night
- Wear a thick hat, scarf and gloves – this will help you retain body heat
- Wrap up at night – wear multiple warm layers, a hat and gloves, and multiple blankets
- Choose a suitable tent – one with good ventilation and as small as possible to retain heat
- Arrive early – never set up in the dark if possible
- Think about where you are pitch your tent – does is have natural wind protection?
- Take spare equipment in case yours fails
- Eat high energy foods and lots of calories to keep you warm
- Only eat hot meals to keep you warm
- Pack a wind breaker to shield you from any harsh winds
