Since Vango launched their AirBeam range of awnings and AirAway inflatable driveaway awnings they have become some of the most popular and sought after caravan and motorhome awnings available.
Following on from this success, Vango have released a brand new range of air awnings for 2017.
The new 2017 range brings further innovation and improved designs to their AirBeam models, making them ideal awning for almost all caravans and camper vans
The inflatable awning revolutionised awning design; previously the choice was between either a pole framed full awning or a small porch awning. The pole full framed awning is still the prevalent choice for longer stays but they can take time and an element of skill to erect. Smaller porch awnings are often quicker to put up, but only offer limited space.
Vango’s AirBeam awnings have a frame made from an inflatable air beam tube, which greatly reduces the time taken to put up the awning and the overall weight.
Air awnings take away the hassle of erecting the frame and canvas. The air beam tubes stay located in their sleeves in the awning - making pitching the awning nearly as simple as blowing up an air bed!
For those watching their towed weight, an inflatable system is a lighter weight awning without the need for heavy poles, and can work out a more cost effective means of saving weight than upgrading a traditional awning to lightweight aluminium of fibreglass/composite awning poles.
Following an extensive period of development over 12 years, Vango launched their AirBeam tents utilising their inflatable frame system in 2013. Shortly afterwards the AirBeam caravan awnings and driveaway awnings followed. In a few short years the Vango brand, which was more synonymous with camping tents, became a pioneering brand of caravan awnings.
The original AirBeam awnings were similar in design to the lightweight porch awnings and were perfectly suited to weekend breaks and shorter holidays.
Since then the range of AirBeam awning sizes available has increased, with Vango launching larger models. The popular Vango Varkala awning model range was extended to include 420 and 520 sized awnings offering increased space.
New Vango AirBeam Caravan Awnings
The new 2017 Vango Air Awning range now offers awnings in sizes to suit almost every caravan, with models such as the Rapide which remains a popular porch system being complemented by the all-new Vango Somoma Air Awning, which adds a front canopy to the improved design.
The larger Varkala and Braemar awning models remain some of the best selling larger inflatable awnings, but for even more luxury Vango have introduced the Vango Kalari.
In sizes up to 520cm, the Vango Kalari Awning is the range's flagship awning, in a superior fabric and with a distinctive curved design made possible through the AirBeam pole-free system and large vista windows.
The Kalari is poised to be the awning that offers air frame technology to those who would normally be looking at the traditional pole-framed awning.
Being inflatable, it's easy to pitch for short stays too, so at last a touring holiday doesn't mean settling for a small porch!
New AirAway Driveaway Awnings
Vango have also offered several new upgrades and improvements to their AirAway drive-away awnings for 2017.
In the driveaway awning range, the Vango Kela has been a consistently popular “mid-range” motorhome awning. A simpler porch option is the Idris, an ideal weekender. At the top end of the range the Vango Galli awning offers a contemporary luxury design.
Advances in Vango's inflatable awning system include the 'Pre-Bend' roof poles that increase headroom inside the awning, plus the option to add bedroom tents to give extra sleeping space.
The Vango Cruz is another new option, in a range of heights to suit campervans to larger motorhomes, with an advanced outer fabric and door configurations to allow entry to the motorhome through the awning area or through the adjoining tunnel section - perfect if you've just got back from a walk with muddy boots and don't want to traipse over your awning carpet.
All of Vango's Air Awnings have matching footprint protectors and carpets available as well as a range of add-ons to choose from to suit your needs.
Whilst the AirBeam system is very durable, one of the first questions people think of when considering an inflatable awning is "will it get punctured?". No awning manufacturer can guarantee that a puncture is impossible, however strong the material. Vango offer a full range of replacement AirSpeed tubes just in case.
